One of my favorite aspects of Fair Trade is the emphasis on women. In fact, most of the products we carry are made by women all over the world. Kenya, India, Ecuador… fair trade co-ops give women the opportunity to provide for their families by paying living wages, sending kiddos to school and empowering mothers every day.
So I see Mother’s Day as a fair trade celebration day, celebrating your mom and all moms, on this hemisphere and all the others. When picking out a gift for your mother this year, why not purchase something made by another woman?
